  2. After watching this clip I see how people can think that GMOs would be beneficial, but also how terrible they can be for the human body. For example, that entire part about the tomato and how modifying the tomato can stop the certain bug from eating it, but also harm the humans who eat them. All in all, I am not a fan of this 'Frankenstein food' because it can cause serious immune and gastrointestinal system problems for humans.

  3. I found it really disturbing to learn that so much of our country's fresh produce is genetically modified without us even knowing. I know Lauren said the research shows many positive effects, but I would not want to risk my chances and end up with fertility problems. Next time I am at the grocery store I plan on avoiding any products that are labeled as being genetically altered.

  4. Well if you don't label what foods are GMO foods then how will you know what you are eating. I never knew that most fruits and vegetables are GMO foods. I would like to know what I am eating because I eat tomatoes all the time. If something is going to end up harming me then is it not in my best interest to know so I can stay away from that product?

  5. I agree with Cara that it is extremely disturbing that the majority of our produce is genetically modified without our knowledge. I think it should be mandatory for food labels to say if they have been genetically modified. Although genetic modification can lead to positive or desired traits in foods, there have been enough studies concerning the long-term effects of consuming GMOs. I know some people are concerned with the pesticides that are used on crops and produce, but I would be more worried that the potential for negative effects of GMOs on the human body would be far greater.
