Current Event (Ryan Nallen)

This clip from CNN reports the recent event of a domesticated chimpanzee attacking a woman. There is a 911 audio tape of the owner of the chimpanzee calling the police for help. This brings up the argument of whether or
not wild animals should be kept as pets. This contains disturbing content so keep that in mind.


Current Event- Kayla Comerford

Below, Keith Olbermann reacts to the recent controversy that is known to many as "Prop 8" and has become referred to by many non-supporters as "Prop H8." After the general election in 2008, the California Proposition was put into effect and the state constitution was changed to restrict the definition of marriage to "opposite sex couples" as well as to eliminate same sex couples' previous right to marry. Currently, there are many people fighting to overturn the proposition, while others are fighting to keep it.

Nisha Mathur - Cholera in Zimbabwe (Week 6)

This is an interview by Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe, on December 11th, stating that there is no cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe. However thousands have been infected in the past year.

If it's hard to hear, he's basically saying that other leaders want to start war for no reason.

This article is about how the Digital Rights Management (DRM) within the Gears of War video game made the game unplayable for several days. Opponents of DRM highlighted this event as an example of why DRM is bad for consumers. However, proponents of DRM argue that it is necessary to stop piracy.

Here is a clip from the Today Show interview with Nadya Suleman, mother of 14 children, who just recently gave birth to octuplets. The birth has sparked controversy regarding in vitro fertilization as well as the psychological and financial well being of the children.
